Interesting Facts About Cell Phones

Cell phone (telefone celular) is a wireless, portable, long-range, electronic telephone, which during travel can seamlessly change antenna connections, from one radio reception cell to another radio reception cell, without dropping or losing the ongoing call.

Besides the standard voice function of a telephone, latest cell phones (telefone celular) have features such as SMS for text messages, MMS for multimedia messages, radio, games, internet connectivity for email, browsing, blogging, music (MP3) playback, memo recording, built-in cameras and camcorders, ringtones, personal organizers, Push-to-Talk (PTT), Bluetooth and infrared connectivity, call registers, streaming video, downloading video, video call, and also serve as wireless modems for PCs that can be connected to the Internet.

The power in a cell phone (telefone celular) is obtained from rechargeable batteries, which can be recharged from the mains, a USB port or a cigarette lighter port in an automobile. Nickel Metal Hydride were the most common types of batteries, which due to the "memory effect" (the user can recharge only when the entire battery is drained off) were replaced by Lithium-Ion batteries, which did not suffer from any memory effect.

Cell phones (telefone celular) came into existence because of the invention of hexagonal cells in 1947, for the base stations by Bell Labs engineers at AT&T. This was further developed during the 1960s by Bell Labs. During a call, the channel frequency could not be changed automatically from one cell (base station coverage area) to another cell (base station coverage area) as the person traveled from the area of one cell to the area of another cell. Amos Joel of Bell Labs invented a breakthrough invention and called it as the `call handoff` by which the channel frequency could be changed automatically from one cell to another cell, during the same call, as the mobile user traveled from one cell to another cell. Due to their heavy construction, these phones were used mainly in automobiles.

The first practical cell phone in a non-vehicle setting, and which could be handheld, was invented by Martin Cooper, the General Manager (Communications Division) of Motorola, who made the world`s first handheld cell phone (telefone celular) call on April 3, 1973.

The technology by which the cell phone (telefone celular) works depends on the mobile phone operator; however, all of them use electromagnetic radio waves, which are in touch with a cell site (base station). The base station is composed of several antennas which are mounted on a pole, tower, or building. Cell sites are spread at a distance of 5 to 8 miles (approx. 8 to 13 km) from each other. The low power transceiver from the cell phone transmits the voice and data to the nearest cell site. During movement, the cell phone will "handoff" the information to other cell site. Mobile phone operators use many technologies to maintain the smooth stream of digitized data from the cell phone to the cell site and vice versa.

The wireless telephone technologies are grouped under heads known as generations, starting from zero generation or 0G. The current generation going on is 4G; however, there are old cell phones (telefone celular) that still operate on 1G, 2G, and 3G technologies. The wireless telephone technologies used in each generation are as given below:

0G: PTT, MTS, IMTS, AMTS, OLT, MTD, Autotel/PALM, ARP

1G: NMT, AMPS/TACS/ETACS, Hicap, CDPD, Mobitex, DataTac

2G: GSM, iDEN, D-AMPS, IS-95/cdmaOne, PDC, CSD, PHS, GPRS, HSCSD, WiDEN, CDMA2000 1xRTT/IS-2000, EDGE (EGPRS)

3G: W-CDMA, UMTS (3GSM), FOMA, TD-CDMA/UMTS-TDD, 1xEV-DO/IS-856, TD-SCDMA, GAN (UMA), HSPA, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+, HSOPA

4G : UMB, UMTS Revision 8 (LTE), WiMAX

Frequency bands: SMR, Cellular, PCS

The impact of cell phone (telefone celular) usage on human health has been of considerable worldwide concern. Research studies in Copenhagen, from the Danish Institute of Cancer Epidemiology, the National Cancer Institute, and the Institute of Cancer Research, do not establish any link between cancer and cell phone usage. However, an intergovernmental agency IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) forming part of the World Health Organization of the United Nations, undertook a study of 4,500 users and found a statistically significant link between cell phone usage and tumor frequency. Further research is going on.

Cell phone (telefone celular) usage and driving is a common worldwide phenomenon. Some jurisdictions have banned usage of hand-held phones during driving, but allowed the hands-free fashion of cell phone usage while driving. However, studies have found out that the distraction is caused by the conversation itself; hence, both hand-held and hands-free cell phones contribute towards road traffic accidents. Further studies on cell phone usage and driving are going on.

Nokia Corporation is currently the world`s largest manufacturer of cell phones (telefone celular). Other notable cell phone manufacturers, in alphabetical order, are 3G, Audiovox (now UT Starcom), Benefon, BenQ-Siemens, Fujitsu, High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC), Kyocera, LG Mobile, Motorola, NEC, Panasonic (Matsushita Electric), Pantech Curitel, Philips, Research In Motion, Sagem, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Siemens, Sierra Wireless, SK Teletech, Sony Ericsson, T&A Alcatel, Toshiba, and Verizon.

Nintendo Wii + Wii Sports - Good for fitness in children?

The Nintendo Wii it seems, puts pay to the concerns in recent years over the inactivity in children due to their interest in video games consoles. The Wii console really sets itself apart from the rest with its revolutionary motion sensitive controller, which actually requires movement in order to play the games.

The Nintendo Wii comes with the game Wii Sports, which includes tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. In tennis you will be swinging the remote as if it were a tennis racket and flicking it up to toss the ball into the air with a quick swing to serve. The other Wii Sports games work in a similar way simulating controller movements for like movements onscreen. Boxing however is the only Wii Sports game that uses the nunchuk attachment and is the most physically exhausting game of them all. In order to hit your opponent in the head or body, you will have to aim high or low with your swings.

There are three different activities with each game. In training mode, you will participate in random challenges, after which you will be assigned a fitness age, based on your performance. Sound familiar? The Nintendo DS game, Brain Training comes to mind...a physical version perhaps?

The important thing here is that gamers are becoming more physically active without even realising it - you could say it has a 'kill two birds with one stone' effect, combining video game play with physical activity. Given this 'physical' nature of the Wii, I wouldn't be suprised if parents rushed out to buy the Nintendo Wii just to get their kids off the sofa!

Another great thing about the Nintendo Wii is that it appeals not only to children and teens but to adults too, so its something the whole family can enjoy.

Could the Nintendo Wii revolutionize the way we play video games in the future? It will be interesting to see what Nintendo's competitors come up with next - this could be a tough one to beat!

What You Need to Know about iPod Movies

iPod devices that are equipped with video players must have the movies from their original format converted to one that can be read and played by the iPod movie player system. This means that the movie can either be downloaded from an iPod-friendly site such as the Apple iPod Store or another website dedicated to iPod music and movies, or the user must purchase the appropriate conversion software. Most of the iPod movie conversion systems can convert most types of movie files such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, RM, RMVB, H.264, VOB or DivX formats into the MPEG-4 video format that the iPod uses.

In addition to just converting the format, the system must also match the resolution of the iPod movie player. The typical resolution for the iPod display screen is 640 by 480 for optimum viewing and clarity of picture. Without the appropriate software conversion, the picture would be highly distorted. Other resolutions are possible and the software application will usually optimize the file for viewing, selecting the appropriate resolution.

There is also a great program offered by Apple, called QuickTime 7 Pro, that allows you to use home videos and videos that are not professionally made and convert them to play on your iPod, just like an iPod movie that you can download. This is a great way to personalize your iPod video, or send a home movie to a friend or family member.

The process is simple: start by downloading the QuickTime 7 Pro from the Apple website. If you have a Mac computer, simply upload your movie to your computer and click on the title of the movie in the drop down box found on the QuickTime program menu. If you have a PC, upload the movie from the device as per the manuals and then save it in the QuickTime file. Once the movie is selected you will again need to use the drop down box and select the export feature, then click on Movie to iPod and let the computer do the rest.

A scrolling bar will keep you informed of the transfer process and will allow you to see how much more time is required for the transfer to occur. You will then need to synch the iPod with the computer to play the movie the first time, then it will be stored on both your computer and the iPod for future use.

The vast number of iPod movies and the ease of using the conversion software means that more people, even those that are not experts on the computer, can easily keep their favorite movies as well as their favorite songs close at hand on their iPod.

Global Domains International - When it all started

In November 2000, less than nine months after launching .WS to the global Internet community, GDI announced it had sold over 100,000 .WS registrations to customers such as Yahoo!, Intel, Cisco, Dell Computers, and other companies and individuals in more than 180 countries.
As proud and exciting as the beginning of .WS was for Mike and Alan, the future is what excites them most. Just before .WS recorded its first registration, Mike and Alan knew the time had arrived to begin building their business to reflect its quickly changing personality -- from a forty-person shop to that of a multi-national corporate conglomerate. To accomplish this, Mike and Alan focused on surrounding themselves with intelligent people who were filled with enthusiasm, and had the capacity to help launch their business on an international scale. In addition, the .WS founders beefed up their marketing outreach with ad placements in Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Additional ads appeared in Major League Baseball’s 2000 World Series program, and thousands of radio spots aired in large urban markets. Mike and Alan also invested heavily in the company’s infrastructure, ensuring that the anticipated volume of registrations would be handled with relative ease and no downtime.
And now, what do Mike and Alan have to say about their "idea," a little more than a year after their harried plane-trip across the Pacific? Mike said, "It’s all about taking a risk and believing in a concept enough to drop everything and make it a reality." Alan concurs. "We are extremely excited about what the next few years have in store for everyone who joins us as we make .WS the global standard for Internet addresses."

Dominate the Rankings on the Search Engines

Today's topic is going to cover a favorite subject of mine, search engines. I am naming this one How to Dominate the Rankings. Must be asking, what in the world makes you an expert on dominating the rankings? What's your credentials. Your right, I have none and I'm no expert. I'm not sure how to dominate anything but my monkey. It's a joke people, just jokes. What I do know is some of my sites are at the top of the rankings and new websites I am working on are rising everyday. Ok Ok, enough already. I think you get the point. I may not be an expert, but I have somewhat of an understanding of how to rank on the 1st or 2nd page. Sooooo. Do I have your attention now. Goood! How do you get your site to the top of the rankings for your keywords. No one really knows the true answer as the search engine world is very complicated. However there are things that you can do to take your website from a site that only you (and maybe some friends) know about to thousands of people knowing. There are 2 factors that you want to consider in your search engine optimization. They are called.

On-page optimization Off-page optimization

Just from the wording you can probably take a good guess at what they are. So I'm not going to go into it. You take it from here. Good luck.. . . Nah, I'm kidding. Let's talk about On-page. On-page optimization is factors that you change on your page. Off-page is factors on other people's websites. What's more important you may ask? Both are important, but off-page is more important than on-page. Back in the hay day of the internet, on-page ruled. But due to spammers and cheats, on-page became less important but still holds some revelance. So make sure you get it right. Today's post is going to focus on on-page for right now. Like my momma always told me, "make sure your backyard is clean before you worry about someone else's" I never understood that when I was young. But it sounded good. I do now though. Anyway, back to the subject. What are factors that you can change on-page to help your rankings. Several. Let's talk about a few here. I think one of the most important ones to change is your Title. Really!! Yes really. You should come up with a good clean title to your website. Not just any Title. The Title of all titles. Your title should be readable to users, such as you and me, but contain YOUR keywords that you want to focus on. Let's look at this in more detail. The Onla Adult Entertainment Site's title is Adult Entertainment Online. Remember above our keywords that we are ranking high with. To name a few

1. adult entertainment 2. entertainment online 3. adult entertainment online

Ooooohhhh. Is it making sense now! Notice anything between the keywords we have and the Title of the page? Alright now on to the next factor meta description and meta keywords. Thing to note: With Google, meta keywords mean nothing. It does not consider it. But most of the others do, so it's good to have in there just in case. I try to optimize my sites for all the SE's, not just one. Word of caution here. Do not go crazy with the keyword. You do not need to put every instance of the keyword or keyphrase in your meta. For instance if your keyphrase is going to be baby momma. You do not need to stuff it with baby momma daddy uncle sister cousin best friend mom. Just put a few key pharses, around 15-20 is a good number to target. Your meta description should touch on your keywords as well. After that, next you want to do is make sure your keywords or phrases appear in your content of your page. Bold or underline one or two just to add importance to it. A side trick that some seo experts say to do is add h1 and h2 tags. Some even go as far as adding h3 or h4 tags. These are called header tags. You add them into your code. Myself personally, I only go up to h2. If your website is full of pictures and banners, search engines cannot see them. Change the alt text of the banner or picture. The alt text is the text that is viewed if a user puts his/her mouse over it. It appears in a little box. Search engines can see that. Put some of your keywords in there. Again, do not spam. I trick I do to not appear to spam is put the keyphrase or keyword and end it with banner or image or picture. For example, keyword baby momma and I have a picture on the site. I would put the alt text for picture to be baby momma picture 1. There are more things to do in which we can speak on it later. What I can tell you is to put your keyword in the search and find the website that is ranking number #1 and copy what they do. Their number #1 for a reason right? So duplicate the format and you should get similiar results. Let's talk about a few things not to do. These will get you banned or penalized.

1. Do not make the keywords or phrases the same color as the background. So to the user, they never see, but the Search engines will. They do not like it and it's consider spammed. If your site does not have the content to fit the keywords and you cannot get creative enough to mix it in so it flows, change up your keywords. Focus on some that you can make flow. But do not do that trick. It's an old trick and SE's are smarter than that. They will know that it's being done and ban you. If your site is doing this now, this is probably why your not ranking well. 2. Keyword spam. This is just repeating the same keyword over and over and over again in your title, meta description and through your page. Again another no no. This will get your site banned from the SE. They see this as spam.

In summary, as I always state in my post, focus on your content. Overall that is the best advice. Set your page up right and focus on the content and the rest should fall in place. With most SE's, when your webpage optimized, it's a waiting game. A little known fact is most websites, probably in the high 80 percentile are not optimized at all to rank well. Your well optimized website will stand out to SE's and move up. Just stay focused on your content. Change up your content regularly, say once every 2-3 weeks, monthly at the worse. This is a good thing as the SE's will see your site as important and keep checking back due to the updated content. We will get into Off-page on another post. I think it needs to be talked about separately. Right now I will let you guys run so you can get working on optimizing your websites. Feel free to share your seo tactics with everyone.

Finding Profitable Keywords For Your Google Adsense Campaign

No doubt that Google Adsense has become the number one player in making money on the internet. The latest claim that I saw advertised was an internet marketer that made over $19,000 in one month. What is their secret? It is simply writing articles and building adsense webpages that use high traffic, or even some traffic, that use profitable keywords. Not just any keywords, profitable keywords. You have to find keywords that your customers use and that your competitors do not use. Their are many tools available and this article will cover just a few of them.

WordTracker is the leading keyword research tool. SEO professionals worldwide use this tool to find profitable keywords. Wordtracker's suggestions are based on over 300 million keywords and phrases that people have used over the previous 90 days. (In other words, there is no "guessing" when you use Wordtracker. Everything is based on the keywords millions of people have actually typed into search engines.)

KeywordDiscovery is also a very popular keyword research tool and is a major competitor to Wordtracker. KeywordDiscovery compiles keyword search statistics from over 180 search engines world wide, to create what they call "the most powerful keyword research tool". It has been noted in a number of reviews that Keyword Discovery returns more words that are relevant than Wordtracker, Yahoo's or Google's suggestion tools.

There are many other tools on the internet that are worth mentioning. They can be used to supplement and verify the profitable keywords that you find using the major keyword tools. They include, the Google search tool, Yahoo Overture, SEO20/20, webconfs website keyword suggestions (you put your competitor's website URL in this one to determine the profitable keywords they are using), and many more.

The SEO20/20 search tool is the most valuable for determining monthly traffic for profitable keywords by search engine. It includes information on the Overture bid prices, total monthly search volume, estimated search volume for Google, Yahoo, MSN, Digital Point (WordTracker), and Nichebot, Google trends, Google Traffic Estimator, Google Suggest, Google Sysnonyms, and Adwords Keyword Tool. It also provides you with links to news searches, directories, blog searches, tag searches, thesaurus, dictionary

Buy Web Site Traffic and Google Adsense -

I have found in one of my recent studies that buying traffic and sending it to a page that has google adsense ad’s works very well under some circumstances. The click threw rate on your adsence will defiantly improve under certain guidelines that I have found experimenting and in turn your google adsense profit will increase a good amount.

When buying traffic in a successful manner keep in mind you have to buy us category targeted traffic and make please sure it is category targeted. So see a list of common categories go here - http://www.prosubmit-traffic.com/programs.html

Here is a list of things that I found work when buying traffic to improve google adsense profit. Make sure your site is in the entertainment field whether it be music, movies or a joke related website.

Purchase us category entertainment targeted traffic. The reason I say this category works is because I personally tested all of the categories. If you have a entertainment related website people are more likely to spend more time looking around and the more time they spend looking around the more chances your google adsense ad’s are going to be clicked on witch in turn makes it extremely profitable to spend $30.00 on 10,000 visitors to get 100 google adsense ad clicks.

A little hint keep your google adsense ad's at the top of your page and blend it with the layout so the links aren’t recognized as ad’s but as hyperlinks to other pages on your website. Make sure the links are 100% relevant to the category of traffic you purchased and good luck I know it works so if you file these guidelines your adsence profits will increase.

Earn Money on Google AdSense using these Three Proven Strategies

Google AdSense is a great program that Internet businesses can utilize to make money. If you want to earn a significant amount of money through Google AdSense then read on. You will learn three proven strategies that will optimize your Google AdSense earnings.

Following are three ways to make money using Google AdSense:

1. Add more messages in your email sequence that is driving customers to your website pages that have Google AdSense advertisements. Increasing the frequency of your email messages will provide more chances for Internet visitors to click on your Google AdSense advertisements.

2. Send out a mass email, solo broadcast. Send out an email to drive traffic to your website page that contains the Google AdSense advertisements. Increase the amount of subscribers you have on your list.

3. Increase the amount of money you earn from the advertisements. For example, certain keywords cost more money in Google Adwords. Therefore, you can write articles that contain these high value keywords. You will earn more money through Google AdSense with these higher quality keywords.

Another strategy you can use is to place the keywords in your Title tag. The first 250 words on your website is the second most important piece of information. Write a line then insert a double space. Place keywords in this space. Highlight the keywords so that it is white. This will cause the keywords to blend into the background. Do not use this for search engine marketing! It will hurt you in search engine optimization. It is only used to increase the price you earn from Google Advertisements. The Google spiders see these keywords. However, the human eye will not detect the keywords.

How do you find the high paying keywords? Use www.highpayingkeywords.com. This service provides you a quarterly listing of the high paying keywords. The service costs you money. However, it is a good investment because Google will not give information about the high paying keywords.

Tip: When you communicate with your list, you need to provide relevant content. Don’t just send poor content as filler. Don’t just send an article or email message to provide Google AdSense exposure. You need to provide content that is a benefit for your subscriber list.

How many emails should you send? You can send as many emails as you want. Sending out various emails is at your discretion. If you send out several emails per week it may annoy some of your subscribers. However, these subscribers can be deleted. You want to send out as many emails as you need because they are bound to bring in more orders for your product or service. Plus, it increases the amount of money you earn through Google AdSense if your subscribers click on the Google AdSense advertisements.

Making Money from Google Adsense

There is nothing more rewarding than receiving the check of hard earned money. You must have seen thousands upon thousands of online testimonies of how they 'got rich' from Google Adsense and how they make thousands per week. Some of these stories are not entirely false.

The main secret behind making money from Google Adwords/Adsense program is content. There is no shortcut. Content is the first step behind any successful money making website. Of course, there is SEO-ing, but content is what drives the potential customers to your site. How much you are willing to invest will determine how much you will make per month, but it is possible to make money without spending a dime.

First of all, you will need a website. Assuming your content will be purely textual (since Google spiders crawl on text/keywords), you may either get a domain and hosting or choose to post to a blog, or you could sign up for free ad-supported website. It is recommended that if you plan on making money from your website, you ought to get a website with your own domain name, after all, ad supported hosting defeats the purpose of your money making; plus, you want your website to appear as professional and less congested as possible.

Now that you have a website, the next step is getting content for your site, but we'll get to that at the end of this article.

Now that you have a domain name and a niche, you will have to sign up for the Google Adwords Program. Note that Google Adwords enables you to get paid for advertising and Google Adsense is when you will have to pay for advertising.

Now that you have your domain with efficient hosting, and your Adwords account, you will need to build your site. If you are already a site-creating guru, then you are a step ahead. If not, creating your content site is not purely throwing out HTML pages. Sooner or later, content is going to keep growing and you may either get an efficient content manager or get hired help.

Traffic makes the difference between you making money or you not getting a dime. In order to get traffic, you can either optimize your website or get traffic by spamming. Now, remember that spamming will not get you repeat visitors, and will give your business a very bad reputation, plus, spamming may cost your website not to be listed on search engines, and Google has the right, under the 'Terms and Conditions' to revoke your Adwords account. You definitely do not want to start from scratch.

Traffic can come by word of mouth and efficient SEO-ing. SEO is an enormously broad topic that ranges from content, link popularity, link exchanges, keywords, web description, etc., to website rankings and so on. In order to remain on the top of your niche, you will need to always want your customers coming back. In order to keep that traffic flowing, you will need to keep content coming fresh and keeping your site constantly optimized and up to date. You will need to be aware of most common spider crawling techniques and use it to your advantage.

Another most common made mistake in getting website content free and cheap is to copy other websites or repeat the same information (if you have more than one money-making site). This is a bad move! Search engines will see this duplicate content as spam and remove it from searched results. Also, if you copy and paste content that is not yours and/or of public domain you will be infringing copyright. Copyright infringement is a crime.

As far as content goes, you can hire help to write articles or you can conveniently buy articles in bulk. Bulk articles are normally distributed by renowned companies and usually are more cost-efficient. Bulk content is also good if you are thinking of expanding your site. A renowned company that can help you with content and marketing strategies is the Myrdhinn's Marketing Madness. There are thousands of articles in different niches and since it's from a trustworthy company, you can always return for new quality content.

http://www.myrdhinn.com/members/davidj/products.html

Remember that signing up for Google Adwords is free. If your website gets rejected at first, don't worry. Just build your site and re-apply. As long as your website is legitimate and is not an 'about-me' site, you are more than likely to get approved. Plus, having an Adwords account opens you to the Google community and you can increase your PageRank dramatically.

Good luck on your first check!

Google Adsense - Ads That Make You Money!

Imagine... being paid checks by the largest and most popular search engine, simply for displaying a few ads on your website for FREE?

Well, this is exactly what the Google Adsense program is all about! And when you think about it, it's a revolutionary way of earning yourself a useful online side income. But let's back up a bit...

In the past, many webmasters displayed ads from various companies, via pop-ups, banners, pop-ins and pop-unders. However, visitors to these sites soon got tired of these advertising methods - I mean, who'd like to go to a website where they'd have to close pop-up windows every other minute? This resulted in a dramatic loss of traffic, and in turn made many webmasters to lose profits.

That's when Google announced a novel program – Google Adsense. Instead of having to use banners and pop-ups to advertise companies and gain a commission, website publishers could now earn a decent profit by displaying unobtrusive text ads on the content pages of their website. Since the ads displayed were often directly related to what your visitors are looking for on your site, you had a way to both monetize and subtly enhance your web content.

One of the main reasons for its popularity, is the fact that the Google Adsense program is incredibly accurate. By stepping beyond the boundaries of simple keyword matching, it has quickly become one of the most prominent tools to display accurate advertisements. A list of keywords is still used as the basis of triggering ads, but complex algorithms now ensure that non-relevant ads no longer show up on your site.

Google Adsense also gives you the option to be selective about the type of ads you wish to display. This helps you direct your visitors towards certain type of products and avoid non-relevant or competitor ads. To make it possible for everyone to integrate Adsense into their sites, the program offers a wide variety of settings that allow you to alter the ads' size and appearance.

Google offers their Adsense program to just about all website owners. After signing up for the program, you'll receive an HTML/ XML code to paste on all of your web pages. Then, Google will dynamically generate ads that are relevant to your web content. Whenever a visitor clicks on one of the Adsense ads on your site, Google credits your account with a percentage of money that was paid by the advertiser for that ad.

Playing the Game: Sudoku

Modern Sudoku was anonymously revived by a retired Hong Kong Judge Wayne Gould, as a logical game disguised as a numbers game. Most people do look at it as a numbers game but if you would see the way the solutions are derived, logic would surely be the key. It has caught on like wildfire and transcends the boundaries of countries with challenging puzzles in every form and style. Sudoku is not restricted to numbers for one can use colors or objects to represent the grid contents that work on the same basic principle without need of modification of the basic rules.

It is unique among the games currently published in either print or on the internet in the sense that it is different and unusual from other usually boring puzzles that we are attracted to when we are waiting in queue or waiting for our number to be called to be served. Most puzzles found in newspapers are simply word games in disguise that have lost appeal with most readers. Sudoku on the other hand needs not translation from language to language and can be understood by people from all ages. It is a rage in Japan, and is fast getting the attention of Americans and Europeans as the puzzle of choice for the present times to come.

Some people have been so challenged by these puzzles that a new form of depression is evolving out of the problem solving process. “Compulsive Sudoku Syndrome”, as the addiction is called is fast spreading and tickling the brain cells of most people who start out perplexed at the seeming simplicity but end up challenged so much that they cannot stop trying to solve a stubborn puzzle. This has been evident with some people who end up in a trance-like state wherein they are so captivated by the drive to solve a Sudoku puzzle. Others have claimed to have fallen into depression when they fail to solve a quite perplexing puzzle that eludes completion.

Popularity of the game has grown and grown to proportions that have had world contests like the one held in 2006 and again in 2007. Many variants of the game have also arisen as a result of its popularity that have the standard 3X3 grids expanded from 4X4 up to a claimed 100X100 sized grid. A 3D variant Roxdoku further challenged players that eventually led to a multiplayer game variant named Juxtapono. Many more variants have evolved from the basic forms that they are now commonplace in newsprint media and other publications that simply can’t resist having them to give readers a breather from their regular articles. It’s simplicity and the challenge created by these puzzles have offered relief from the already too common word puzzles such as cross words.

The basic games can usually be obtained as a small program from many sites on the internet that generate the uncompleted grids in any combinations that would be desired. Some forms have even revived interest in the hit Rubik’s Cube game named Sudokube that has numbers on the cubes instead of the previously used colors. Whatever form and shape they may take, they still follow the basic rule that no number should occur more than once in the 3X3 grid. That may be the key to it’s success, simplicity or rather the lack of it. The very simple rule if applied can become very complicated for the ones categorized as difficult.

Learn to Type with Typing Games

For children, the ability of using the computer is becoming fundamental in nowadays, so learning to type is must for them. But most children get bored with any repetitious task and give up or whine and even want to stop, parents or teachers always feel nothing else bother them more than when children face the keyboard and have absolutely no idea where the keys are or how they go about typing. They just "play" with the keyboard. This is a waste of time for them and, worse, children get into the bad habit of typing with two fingers. So parents or teachers have to face how to solve this problem.

As parents and teachers know, whether children want to learn a thing or not largely depends on whether they are attracted by it. Based on this, the typing tutor must be easy-to-use, fun colorful and appealing to children. Once children love and develop interest in it, they will learn to type on their own initiative. Generally, children naturally like to play games, because when playing games, they are always attracted by the colorful interface and pretty music in the games, and above all, they're able to learn something quickly under no pressure. Apparently, the problem for children having no interest in learning to type is solved, they can learn to type when playing games.

There are many advantages of using typing games for typing: First, Games are a welcome break from the usual routine of the typing practice, thus help children learn typing more easily. Second, Typing requires a great deal of effort. Games help children to make and sustain the effort of learning. 2: Attacks of the alien Children mission is to stop the alien fleets to attack the earth. So they must type letters before the alien fleets through the galaxy into the earth. By playing the game, children type the letters, and can be familiar with the keys. With children accelerating the typing speed, the alien fleets fly rapidly, so they have to type quickly in case the earth is attacked by the alien fleets.

3: Help! A bad man has held a boy under duress. So children must help the soldier to rescue the boy by typing the letter. If their typing speed is slow, the boy's life is under danger. Once children succeed to rescue the boy, the boy will laugh loudly for thanking.

4: Balloon Falling Letters are ruining the balloons. Save the balloons by typing the letters before the balloons land on the ground. Lots of fun! The more children type the more score they get.

Analysts are Stunned by Lucrative Online Skill Games Market

The online skill games market is raking in an astounding $412.00 (USD) per second, sending analysts into a frenzy.

As rapidly as the internet marketplace has grown overall, the market for skill games has grown at nearly four times the rate. The online games market is on target to grow from the $3.4 billion (USD) produced in 2005 to more than $13 billion ($412 per second) by year 2011, according to the most recent report from analyst firm DFC Intelligence.

$5.2 billion dollars is the genre's current market valuation (2007). That works out to approximately $164.00 USD per second. Within the next five minutes, players worldwide will spend almost $50,000 on games online.

The combination of this amount being spent and the projected future growth makes this industry a hot ticket for companies like MTV Networks, who are eager to get their slice of the action.

What is the meaning of a "game of skill"? "A skill based game is a internet game played in a tournament format, with each player paying a cash entry fee to play, and with a cash or merchandise prize going to the winner or winners of the tournament" according to The International Game Developers Association.

Skill games derive their name from their greater dependence on ability, and much lower dependence on luck, to successfully win at them. This is a critical point to keep in mind, as games relying solely on luck or chance may be restricted by anti-gambling legislation.

Is it legal to play or provide skill-based games? In the United States, the Skill Game Protection Act, or HR 2610, was introduced on June 7, 2007 by Robert Wexler (Congressman, NY), making games of skill, such as poker, bridge, and chess, legal to play and provide online access to for profit.

In other countries, games that rely on a player's skill or ability, and leave little influence of their outcome to luck, are typically legal. Before attempting to test your ability at skill games, however, it would be advisable to make sure you're familiar with the regulations in your country.

As many online gambling sites worldwide are being shut down for legal reasons, and with many of these sites' patrons moving towards online skill games, the market for online skill games will likely continue to flourish.

How can I make money with online skill games? To make money from online games of skill, you may (1.) Become skilled enough at a few online games to consistently win money and prizes in tournaments, or (2.) Start a gaming website, and have people pay you for the privilege of playing your games. The latter is inherently more profitable, although setting up a gaming website can be a somewhat arduous endeavor.

As online games allow skilled persons the opportunities to both make money and indulge their competitive spirit with players from around the world, their allure can be difficult to ignore for many people.
